Soup Quest

Soup Quest is a game created for the Kenney Jam 2023 in 48 hours.

It's about a man (?) waking up one day, and deciding they want to cook the best Soup ever cooked, or die trying! Not that he's in any danger, apart from the food poisoning...

Explore a procedurally generated world composed of various biomes, filled with interesting locations such as Villages, Castles, and mysterious Dungeons! Gather ingredients from all over, and barter for better stuff with the strange inhabitants of this even stranger world.

Now that the serious description is over, let me talk a bit about the Jam, and how I messed up real bad by not realizing my weekend was more busy than I realized... of the 48 hours available, I've used around 16, 8 of which on Friday night (where I went to sleep at 5AM), and another 8 on the last day. It is now 7AM, as I am writing this.

Anyways. Future goals for the game, if it garners any attention and people wants to see more of it:

- Polishing up what exists, including reworking the UI completely, better Sounds and Music, and optimizing terrain generation with threads (I messed up and did not have the time to do so already)

- Adding new Biomes and Locations (Kenney has some cool Castle and Graveyard packs I really wanted to use for this...)

- More Ingredients, more food preparation steps (like the Mill), and stuff along those lines

- Minigames for Gather, Bartering, and Cooking. That was waaaay out of scope for this
